Don’t be so serious. Have some fun and enjoy life. There’s a lot of reasons to smile and laugh. You don’t have to be the stick in the mud who can’t see through the struggle at the good things. Yes things are tough, yes you’ve been fighting hard to stay afloat. But you’ve also got some great blessings in your life that have nothing to do with money. Stop looking at what you don’t have! Start enjoying what you do have and you’ll find the smile and laughter again.
Everyone can get down from time to time. The more stress and anxiety you have on your shoulders the longer and farther down you can get. When you focus on all the negative things that have happened or might occur in the day to come, you pull more of that negative energy toward you. That makes it hard to smile and laugh at the things you used to have fun with. Nothing seems funny now, because of the weight of all the negative things that have happened.
But if you can focus on the good things, the possibilities and the potentials, you can pull more positive energy onto your path and help turn things around. You have a lot of blessings to connect with if you’ll simply take the time to look.
If you’re reading this post, you can be thankful for the resources that have provided you pc and internet connection to do that. Even if that resource is the local library. If you’re looking at this from your smart phone, you can be thankful you have the world at your fingertips and the resources to have the phone and the cell service. If you’re looking at this from a friends pc or phone; there’s nothing more valuable than that friendship.
There are many little things we take for granted everyday. Stop for a moment. Stand or sit still and look around you. What is by your side that you’re thankful to have in your life? Kids? A partner that loves you? Friends? What about the pet you give love to and get enjoyment or support from. Even fish have blessings they give to those who have them! Count your blessings. You’ll probably find you have a lot to smile about.
If you’re feeling so down that you can’t shake the feeling, consider talking to your doctor, or a local medical care center about depression. People who appear to be functioning normally through every day life can be stricken with clinical depression and not realize it. Learn more about the seriousness of depression at the National Institute of Mental Health. There is help out there for all who need it. You don’t even have to have medical insurance to get it.
