Today’s Tarot Meditation Drawing: Judgement – Inverted

Judgement - Inverted

Mystic Faery Tarot by Linda Ravenscroft

Use your better judgement and don’t make assumptions about those who are tooting their horn. Remember everyone deserves due process. So don’t judge the book by its cover. Give both sides a chance to tell their tale. Then balance the evidence to determine the truth.

Additional Insight:

The rush to judge can have serious consequences to everyone involved in any situation. It’s important today NOT to make knee jerk reactions. Just because someone said something happened, doesn’t mean it happened exactly like they said it did. You can support the courage of others, while withholding judgement pending a serious investigation. Or waiting for others to complete their investigation before accepting rumor and innuendo.

In this hyperbolic climate, people are weaponizing information against their enemies or people they simply don’t like. Some tales are false and those making accusations may have ulterior motives. It’s important to show respect to all sides, no matter how angry an accusation may cause you to feel. But remember the burden of proof is on the side of the accuser.

Still that doesn’t mean every accuser is suspect. Most accusations have a preponderance of proof and truth in them. But you must verify what you’re told and confront a suspect with calm clarity. You’ll gain their confidence to tell the truth or maybe you’ll put them at ease and catch them in a lie. The point is to make an honest attempt to confirm information you’re given as much as possible. Don’t take someone’s word for what they’re saying. Talk to others involved and witnesses who may not realize what they saw or heard when the event happened.

Making sure you can balance the scales will save you unnecessary heartache and unwanted consequences in the long run. It will also help you to hone your instincts and confirm what you’ve known or felt for months. Make sure you’re honest with your own feelings and perspectives too. Make sure your judgement isn’t clouded. Just because you want to believe something awful to be true, that doesn’t mean it is true. Making the wrong decision could have life long consequences. So be cautious today and don’t rush to judgement.

Update:
Within moments of posting today’s card, I received an admonishing message about lecturing on politics. That’s not the message in this card. Though if that’s what you see in the message, this insight might apply to you in that context. The message could apply to anything in your life today. Business, personal or political interests that dominate your day.

As I wrote the message, my sense was the message was about a personal situation in people’s lives. Someone said something about somebody close to you/us and we shouldn’t just believe what is being said on the word of this person alone. Especially if the accusation is at odds with the person we know. At the same time, we cannot allow our judgement to be clouded simply because we don’t want something to be true. Our inner voice will always try to tell us when something isn’t right. But which side of that tale is the lie? Love is blind, while at the same time, what is the motive behind an accusation?

If you read this message and think it applies to politics, or social change than you could be missing a warning that’s much closer to home. So be open and honest with your own inner voice and don’t simply dismiss today’s message as a global commentary on today’s News.
