Remember what goes around, comes around. Speak from the heart and show your compassion. Others may still be struggling and could use a kind word while they’re going through healing. Listen and give them an outlet for their fear and frustration. Remember when you only needed someone to listen? Give something back and be that compassionate person today.
Sometimes life can become overwhelming and no one knows this better than you. Remember when you wanted someone to listen to you and there wasn’t anyone there? You didn’t want someone to fix things, or tell you what to do, or make suggestions, because you’ve already done that and more. You simply wanted someone to talk to.
There are people around you who are still struggling and going through the depths of despair. And they need someone to listen. Don’t cut them off or run away from their drama because you don’t want to hear the sorrow. That’s probably what people said when you needed to cry.
Give something back from what you learned. The compassion you show to others will go a long way to creating healing and ease the fears and sadness they have bottled up inside. That good deed will come back around and reward your kindness. It doesn’t take any effort to listen or hold someone’s hand with compassion. If you share what you did and how you got through the worst days, you might ease their anxiety. Even if it’s only for a moment.
Remember words have energy and sometimes getting them out can make room for healing to take place. As you share and listen, you might benefit from the exchange as well. No one should hold onto anger or resentment of any measure. So you too can let it out and release it from your world. Those past emotions do not serve you well today.
None of us are an island living alone in the world. Not by a long shot. We may not need or want others to fix our problems, but we could use a little help now and again for someone to listen. Sometimes we just need someone to talk to. Even if it’s only so we can let out the heavy negativity and feel a little uplifted to fight another day.
