Those thorns aren’t in your side. Look at them again and you’ll find a step ladder to help you climb out of the doldrums and improve your perspective. You are the only one who controls your emotions. If you’re tired of being down and depressed, then only you can change your disposition and see the joys that surround you. So put a smile one your face, even if you feel like frowning. You’ll talk yourself into a better mood.
You create your day, week, month and year. You are responsible for your emotions, not someone else. No one can MAKE you feel angry or sad unless YOU allow them too. So it’s time to stop blaming everyone else and start taking responsibility for your actions and your emotions.
Even if you have to talk yourself into being happy, you can do it. Sit on the edge of your bed, or in your office chair, or even at the dining room table. Close your eyes and imagine with each breath you take in, a white Divine light coming into your physical body. Imagine that light collecting at your solar plexus (where your rib cage meets at the bottom). As it grows imagine this brilliant light growing and pushing all the negativity, stress, anxiety and darkness from your being. See this negative energy being pushed out of your body like a gray smoke being forced to leave. Fill your entire body with this white Divine light, from head to toe, until it grows so large that it pushes outside the confines of your physical being and surrounds you in Divine protection.
Now open your eyes and get on with enjoying the good things you do have in your life. Smile and say hello to people who pass you. Remember YOU are the one in control of your day. So create the day YOU want to have.
