Trials, Trauma & Grief
Going through trials and trauma are not easy for anyone. The key is to not allow the past and actions of others to control you now or your future. We can’t go back and change the things we went through. But we can learn from them and heal ourselves in the process. My motto is: “You cannot change the past. You can only change the way you allow the past to affect your present and your future.”

What ever the situation, making change to deal with the trials of life, or letting go of the past is not easy for anyone. No matter what the situation or what the loss, be it the death of a loved one, the loss of a friendship or love relationship, the loss of innocence, allowing drugs or alcohol to control your path or a hurt that has been felt and carried for a long time; our psyche goes through a period of mourning. Decoration Day
Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in service of the United States of America. Waterloo N.Y. was officially declared the birthplace of Memorial Day by President Lyndon Johnson in May 1966, it’s difficult to prove conclusively the origins of the day.

Regardless of the exact date or location of its origins, one thing is clear – Memorial Day was borne out of the Civil War and a desire to honor our dead. It was officially proclaimed on 5 May 1868 by General John Logan, national commander of the Grand Army of the Republic, in his General Order No. 11. “The 30th of May, 1868, is designated for the purpose of strewing with flowers, or otherwise decorating the graves of comrades who died in defense of their country during the late rebellion, and whose bodies now lie in almost every city, village and hamlet churchyard in the land,” he proclaimed.

The date of Decoration Day, as he called it, was chosen because it wasn’t the anniversary of any particular battle.

I’m A Survivor

The Prayer of Strength and Endurance

strength

Everyone faces adversity in their own way. Some people yell at the top of their lungs and join the march because they’re followers and part of the mob. They don’t stop to think for themselves or discover the truth behind the inflammatory remarks from others. Sadly the internet, social media and “sharing” posts have made this all to easy and created ignorance. When you do this you become part of the ill informed community who relies on others to lead the way. Continue reading

Thoughts and Prayers For Oklahoma Tornado Victims

Wolf Prayers & BlessingsMay Strength Find It’s Way

Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible. ~ Dalai Lama

On May 20th, 2013 a massive tornado hit the suburbs of Oklahoma. The area was struck by winds of up to 200mph (320km/h) making the potentially 1 mile wide twister a category EF-4 on the five-point Fujita scale – the second most powerful type of storm.

Monday’s storm hit Moore, a suburb of about 55,000 people, at 15:01 (20:01 GMT) and remained on the ground for about 45 minutes.

Many people were killed, others are missing, homes and business were destroyed. We give thanks that some have miraculously survived and have been found underneath piles of rubble or safely tucked away in impromptu bunkers.

Everyone from my family and at Spring’s Haven send our thoughts and prayers to all those touched by this terrible disaster no matter where they maybe. We extend our deepest sympathies to these communities for the losses they face.

May the Great Spirits watch over those hurt and injured,
May the families and friends of those lost, find strength to endure.
May all rescuers pull together in clarity and mission,
providing help and healing where ever it’s needed before them.
May compassion, thoughts, prayers and healing blanket this community,
for today and all the days of recovery to come.

And so it is…

Witches Can’t Fly Above 150 Meters

Flying Wolf WitchFlight Limit Set in Africa

Reported May 17th, 2013 in the Washington Times is a notice to all Witches about new altitude flying restrictions.

In Swaziland, Africa no witch may fly her broom stick above the 150 meter (492.126ft) limit for fear of impeding authorized aviation traffic.

The restriction protects witches as much as it does the air traffic in the region. Swazi witches fly on their broomsticks to spread and drop their homemade brews and potions on unsuspecting victims.

Sabelo Dlamini, an official at the Swazi civil aviation authority said: “A witch on a broomstick should not fly above the [150 meter] limit.” Doing so could land the witch a ticket with a heavy fine of R500,000 (£35,487 / $53,837.33). Continue reading

Merry Beltaine – May 1st/6th

Arctic Wolf Fire

The Festival of Bel’s Fire

May You Have A Wonderful Holiday Celebration!

By the Solar Calendar, the holiday is celebrated on May 1st. But by the Lunar Calendar it’s honored on May 6th.

The early Celts were very balanced in the way they scheduled their lives. One of the places this is seen most clearly are in the High Holy days.

Each festival fell in between a solstice or equinox. February 6 for Imbolg, May 6th for Beltaine and August 6th for Lughnasadh as examples.

With the advent of the modern calendar, the festivals were assigned to dates based on solar cycles. And most Pagan Metaphysical traditions follow this selection of dates for their holiday observances. To some degree this does throw off the balance intended for the cycle of the lunar year. This is also one reason varying traditions hold their festivals on different days. Wicca for instance recognizes May 1st as the date for Beltaine. Where as my tradition, Deborean, still recognizes May 6th as the date to honor Bel.

Learn more about Beltaine, or you might enjoy reading about the Celtic Lunar Tree Calendar to further your research.

Sympathies & Prayers For Boston

Our Deepest Sympathies & Prayers ~ by Springwolf

Our Deepest Sympathies & Prayers

Our Thoughts For Boston, Massachusetts

Everyone from my family and at Spring’s Haven send our thoughts and prayers to all those involved in today’s Boston Massachusetts bombings.  We hold all competitors in today’s Marathon, their families and friends; here and far away at home in our hearts.

May the Great Spirits watch over those hurt and injured,
May the families and friends of those lost, find strength to endure.
May all first responders pull together in clarity and mission,
providing help and healing where ever it’s needed before them.
We send our thoughts to the international community present
and we pray that compassion and forgiveness will find its way to all.
~ Springwolf

We also send out prayers to those angered by today’s event, that they find patience and tolerance. Please do not make this tragedy worse by harming any group of people or persons based on assumptions of bigotry and hate.

The community of the world can only find peace when compassion is shown to our neighbors. Only when we allow patience to thrive, allowing justice to flourish will those responsible be held accountable for their actions.
