We would like to extend our thanks to all of you for visiting our blog throughout this past year. And we send out A Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours for a wonderful and happy Celebration!
“In the 19th century, the modern Thanksgiving holiday started to take shape. In 1846, Sarah Josepha Hale, editor of a magazine called Godley’s Lady’s Book, campaigned for an annual national thanksgiving holiday after a passage about the harvest gathering of 1621 was discovered and incorrectly labeled as the first Thanksgiving.
It wasn’t until 1863, when President Abraham Lincoln declared two national Thanksgivings; one in August to commemorate the Battle of Gettysburg and the other in November to give thanks for “general blessings.” ~ National Geographic: The First Thanksgiving.
Even if the News doesn’t realize it, there are still a lot of people who are suffering and struggling everyday. For some the only hope they have is that 1 lottery ticket. Hope can carry you through one more day, over one more hurdle and help you face the day to come. It doesn’t matter what the reason, but that ticket is all they have.
This was reinforced for me this week when I posted a comment on the Old Farmer’s Almanac about using green grapes around your garden to keep slugs from eating your flowers and veggies. Another person replied “I can’t afford grapes for myself, much less slugs”. A lot of people know how that feels. I do, things were really bad for us after the recession.
When I pick up a ticket, my family and I light a candle together and say a little prayer to my friends the Faeries.
Faeries Bright, In Faery Light..
Here’s our numbers, please make them right.

We have shared our deepest sympathies too many times on days like today where our news is blanketed with terror, sadness, intolerance and hate. Whatever the reason a young man had for resulting to mass murder, his actions and hate will never be justified and should never be tolerated.
At some point America needs to learn that these hate crimes are terrorism born here at home. An entire community around the U.S. has been threatened and targeted too many times, simply because of who they have chosen to love.
Love is the life force that allows all humans to survive throughout their life. It raises everyone up with compassion, caring and, well love. There is no greater gift we can give to the world around us than to love one another.
Everyone here at Springwolf Reflections and Spring’s Haven extend our thoughts and prayers to the victims, their families and friends. Along with everyone in the LGBT community who are crying and constantly looking over their shoulders. That’s no way someone should have to live. And it is the result of all terrorist acts. We have shared our deepest sympathies too many times on days like today where our news is blanketed with terror, sadness and intolerance. This is not the time to demean, insult or threaten a population of people who share a nationality with those who have chosen violence to express their anger and hatred. We hope everyone around the world will show compassion and refrain from directing their fear or anger toward innocent people who themselves are fearful and filled with sadness.
We also hope and pray that the political rhetoric remains calm, that wisdom be placed in the hearts and minds of our world leaders as they and their officials face the challenges brought to us all by these acts of terror.
Everyone here at Springwolf Reflections and Spring’s Haven extend our thoughts and prayers to the victims, their family and friends in Brussels. Along with all the people of Belgium and Europe who are now in the shadow of sorrow and fear. Continue reading →
. . . . I’m fond of the Fae and I talk to them all the time. I see them as mystical messengers of Nature and wise spirits that are favored by the GreatSpirits (my label for the Divine Universe).
Before I pull a card, I have a little prayer I like to say asking the GreatSpirits for help. This is important for any Tarot Reader, whither you’re giving someone a reading, or pulling a card for yourself. As you say your prayer, you should visualize yourself in a clear white light, being protected by the Divine force in your life. You want to set a shield of protection and call in your guides, “God/Goddess” or whatever you feel connected to, for their help and assistance to divine the best and highest message possible.
We have several friends in Sydney and more in Australia over all. We’ve been thinking of you all during the sad hostage situation in Sydney.
While we’re relieved the event has ended, we’re so very sorry to hear of the loss of life. We send out our thoughts and prayers to everyone. But especially to the two hostages, their families and friends for their tragic loss.
Everyone here at Spring’s Haven and Springwolf Reflections send our thoughts and prayers to your families and friends. May each of you find the strength to endure, the support for each other to cope, and the energy to remember the happy memories during this sorrowful journey.
I’m of the belief that the spells or prayers that rhyme are the ones that are the easiest to remember.
I found myself in need of some rhyming help this evening while writing a spell. What in the world rhymes with fire and would give force to protection? It dawned on me, there has to be an app for that! Well I don’t know about an app, but I did find a great website that helped! I thought I’d share my find.
It’s called RhymeZone. What I liked most about this little place is that you can type in the word you’re trying to rhyme with and it not only gives you options, but it also gives you links to definitions. That is very helpful when you’re trying to write a phrase to raise a specific type of visualized energy, such as for a spell or prayer.
Oh..and in case you were wondering, With this warmth of smoke and fire, I empower this stone with the energy to repel and expire.

GreatSpirits, creators of all that is,
Please bring to me the greatest force,
or forces possiblein this time and space,
to divine the highest message and most positive message
for this reading before me.
I send my thanks and deepest gratitude
for your love and guidance.
So it is.
I call on the GreatSpirits because this fits with my view of what the Divine is. You can certainly change that label to fit your view. Don’t be locked in to my words. Use your own and trust your own instincts.
I thought I’d share one of my prayers today, for those who may wish to use it, or who can use it as inspiration to create their own prayer for divination.
Our Deepest Sympathies To The Community Of Newtown, Connecticut
Our hearts and prayers go out to the families, friends and the community of the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.
Words seem inadequate to express the sadness we feel over the tragic loss of so many young innocent lives. Our sympathies, love and support we send out to all families and friends of those have been taken from this world too soon. We pray that the GreatSpirits welcome them with love and compassion. And that each and everyone touched by this devastating tragedy is illuminated and comforted in Divine Light. May you find the strength to endure and live on to hold their memories in your hearts.
